PC Games With GeForce Now Can Now Be Played by Chromebooks from marierobert's blog

When it works on its full potential, you will find no difference between Chromebook and a powered PC.

The heated competition between gaming consoles is further intensifying with the new version of Xbox and PlayStation due to be launched this fall, Nvidia has shown audacity by intruding inside the home of Google Stadia by bringing Chromebook to the team of GeForce’s supporting platforms.

To be honest, GeForce Now is a better option than Google Stadia, and this is true for any gaming platform; the ability to run the games on Chromebooks is nothing short of a blessing.

The difference between Stadia and GeForce Now is that Stadia offers you to play the only custom optimized games that you have to buy specifically, but GeForce Now is not like that. It enables you to bring your own games and add on its library.

There is a firm opinion held by many that any game shouldn’t just be bought specifically to be played for one specific platform. The simple reason for this is that games march in and out of the platform’s library because of complexity in licensing deals. Now the problem with GeForce Now is that you have to buy a pc that supports the game if the game gets thrown away from its library.

There is really no need to buy exclusive games, there are several free to play games that are available on several platforms, and now you can even play them on Chromebooks.

There is also a free account on Chromebook using which you can enter and try those free to play games. If you want longer version games, you have to opt for founder membership at $5 per month.

In Nvidia, a six months subscription is for $25, which means you will get one month for free according to the market prices.

If you have games on Epic Games Store, then it is an onerous task to get the Chromebook library’s games because EGS launcher for Chromebooks is no longer there. There is also a legal tussle between Epic and Google regarding Fortnite, which also needs to be taken into account.

To run the games smoothly, you must have high-speed internet connectivity and large Ram. The recommended specifications are at least 7th generation Intel Core M3 and minimum 4GB of Ram (You may get 4GB Ram even in your standard laptops).

When it comes to internet connectivity, Nvidia recommends that there should be an uninterrupted 5GHZ connectivity and preferably a latest Wifi 5 model to appreciate the smoothness of the game.

All these specifications do require a bit of cost, but it is advisable because in cheap models, neither will your game run smoothly, and nor will it run for a long time.
