It all began with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 model. Xiaomi's moderate expansion was ongoing with the Poco F3 and X3 series. And now it looks the manufacturers will be closing this series with the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite duo. We are testing the Mi 11 Lite 5G model. It is more powerful than the previous two series, plus it is 5G-enabled.

The Mi 11 Lite Duo 5G truly looks like a Lite version of the Xiaomi Mi 11 flagship. They both comprise similar design models. Both models consist of powerful chipset, high-end HRR OLED mobile screens, and camera setups with resembling capabilities.

Price and Availability

Xiaomi revealed the Mi 11 Lite Duo along with the Mi 11 Ultra on March 29. The model was launched in China. Now it is ready to make its launch to global markets of Europe on May 6.

The Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite Duo is supplied in 4G and 5G versions. The previous model is partnered by a Snapdragon 732G, and the latter functions the latest Snapdragon 780G chipset. Xiaomi gives the Mi 11 Lite Duo 5G in a single 8GB/128GB configuration in global markets. This version is available for £399 ($565) in the UK. You can opt for the set in Citrus Yellow, Mint Green, and Black color variants.

Design and Display

When I started testing the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite, the first spec I observed was its weight. It is 159g, which is one of the lightest smartphones you can get today. With makers adding larger batteries, metal designs, phones have become thick and heavier over the past three years. The transition from the Mi 11 Ultra, which is a giant 234g phone, to the Mi 11 Lite is refreshing. This is one of the thin and light-weighted phones in the market at just 6.8mm.

So, if you want a lightweight smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite is one of the best options. The appealing design itself is similar to the Xiaomi Mi 11.

The wide-angle camera is 64MP, and the macro is 5MP. The 64MP and 5MP cameras are confined in a prolate housing, and the big rings around the lenses make it different.

Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite Duo 5G Specs at A Glance

Body: Its body has a configuration of: 160.5x75.7x6.8mm. Dust and splash protection. Weight is 159g; Glass front protected with Gorilla Glass 6, glass back; IP53.

Chipset: Chipset is Qualcomm SM7350-AB Snapdragon 780G (5 nm): Octa-core.

Display: screen display has HDR10+, 90Hz, 240Hz touch sampling, 6.55" AMOLED, 1B colors, 20:9 aspect ratio, 800 nits, 1080x2400px resolution, 402ppi.

Memory: comes in configuration of 128 GB/6GB RAM, 128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 8GB RAM; UFS 2.2; microSDXC. It uses shared SIM slot.

OS/Software: MIUI 12, Android 11.

Video capture: Front camera: 720p@120fps; Rear camera: 4K@30fps, gyro-EIS.

Front camera: 20 Mega Pixel.

Rear camera specification:Wide-angle: camera 64 MP; Macro: 5 MP; Ultra-wide angle: 8 MP.

Battery Life: 4250mAh; Quick Charge 4+, Fast charging 33W, Power Delivery 3.0.

Misc:Infrared port; NFC; Fingerprint reader (side-mounted).

Battery and Performance

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 780G, 8GB RAM

Software: MIUI 12 over Google Android 11 OS

        Battery: 4250mAh, 33W fast-charging

        Storage: 128GB/256GB, microSD

Battery life is the first thing that we estimated would not be long-lasting in the Mi 11 Lite Duo 5G. It is because Mi 11 Lite is very slim and light-weighted. But it’s not as it looks like. For beginners, the 4,250mAh battery is pretty good. It can easily last for 16 hours in a day with about 25% or more battery remaining. This battery life is sufficient enough for a person in a day for doing basic functions on the phone.

Well, we were unable to find a 5G signal location during testing because of lockdown and all that. So, whether a 5G signal would negatively impact battery life is still a matter of debate. However, there is a 5G option in the Settings app to toggle the connectivity off when it's not required. This toggling would increase the battery life of the phone.

Cameras

        It has Triple rear cameras:

o    Wide: (Main): 64 MP, 0.7µm pixel size, f/1.8 aperture, PDAF

o    Wide-angle:  8MP, 119-degree angle of view, f/2.2, 1.12µm.

o    Macro: 5MP, f/2.4 aperture.

        One front-facing selfie camera (punch-hole): 20MP, f/2.2 aperture.

Google recently announced that it developed the latest AI tool to help people analyze skin conditions. Similar to other symptom-analyzing tools, it’ll answer questions over how precisely it can function. Experts say it should also be examined for how it affects human behavior. Does it make them more often to visit the doctor? Or Less often?

These sorts of symptom-identifying tools usually explain that they can’t diagnose health conditions. But they can provide people an idea about what might be wrong. Some tools comprise thousands of users and are valued at millions of dollars. Dozens were introduced over the previous year to help people to check if they might have COVID-19.

Despite growing rapidly, there’s less information available about how symptom-identifiers change people’s behavior to manage their health. Jac Dinnes says, “it’s not the kind of analysis firms generally do before launching a product.” Jac Dinnes is a senior researcher at the University of Birmingham’s Institute of Applied Health Research. She has examined smartphone applications for identifying skin conditions. They are more focused on the answers the symptom-identifiers provide, less on how people respond to those answers.

Without evaluating the tools as they’re supposed to be used, you won’t know what the impact is going to be,” she added.

Filling Up the Knowledge Gap

Google’s dermatology tool is developed to enabling people to post three pictures of a skin issue and take a quiz about symptoms. Then, it provides a list of possible conditions that the AI-driven tool thinks are the best matches. It displays textbook pictures of the condition and induces users to browse about the condition in Google. Users have the choice to download the case to review it later or delete it completely. The company intends to introduce a pilot version later this year.

It also may launch methods for users to continue research on a potential issue outside the tool itself.

While designing AI tools as the recent Google tool, researchers prone to assess the correctness of the machine learning program. Researchers want to learn exactly how precisely it can match an unfamiliar thing. Things like uploading a picture of a strange rash with a known issue. Google hasn’t uploaded data on the recent iteration of its skin-checking tool. But it claims to comprise of 84% precise match to a skin problem in the top three suggested conditions.

There’s generally less focus on what people have to do with such information. This makes it tough to explain if this kind of tool could satisfy one of its stated aims. The aim to provide information to users that a dermatologist might give. Dinnes says, “No doubt that there is a great demand for dermatologists.”, “There’s a will to utilizing tools that are considered as helping the situation.” She added, “but we are not sure if they’re going to help.”

Hamish Fraser says, “It’s a huge difference in our understanding.” Fraser is an associate professor of medical science at Brown University. Fraser studies symptom-checkers. There is a fundamental issue of whether users can interpret the tools correctly and use them accurately. But there’s also a question about whether users will respond to anything they asked from the system.”

Fraser says, “coating that cracks are essential as several similar tools come onto the market.” There are many emerging technologies. Understanding how technologies could change user’s behavior is very significant because their role in healthcare will possibly rise.

Fraser says, “People started Google and other search engines using the symptom-checker.” Fraser further added, “There’s, of course, a need there.”

What Do People Require to Do Next?

Fraser says prospectiveresearches would make people using a symptom-checker for a permit to follow up and contact their doctor.” “People would begin to hastily sense whether a random sample of people using it got something relevant or not.”

One of the researches conducted research on around 150,000 subjects who used a medical chatbot named Buoy Health. Researchers examined how likely subjects told they visited the doctor before using the bot. And how probably they visited the doctor after viewing what the chatbot had to say. Around a third of subjects said they would ask for less urgent care. Only 4% said they would take more urgent steps after using the chatbot. The rest remained around the same.

I was testing the latest Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus tablet for the past few days. It began rolling out to consumers earlier this week. It begins at $179.99, a bit higher than half the price of the newbie iPad.

This is Amazon’s most high-end tablet and comprises some additional features such as enhanced RAM and wireless charging option. These upgrades make it a good choice than the $149.99 regular Fire HD 10.

Amazon’s tablet business doesn’t produce a notable amount of the company’s revenues. They’re appealing as they’re cost-effective and allow you to play shows, movies, music, and read books. They’re great if that’s all you wanted from a tablet. Though, I think most users who can wait and save a bit longer will learn they can do much more with an iPad.

Here are the things you should learn about the latest Fire HD 10 Plus.

Price and Availability

Amazon introduced two designs of its famous Fire HD 10 device in past April 2021. Plus, it also launched its Kids Pro Fire tablets this year. The tablets were available for pre-booking and rolled out to buyers at the end of May 2021.

The two adult tablets introduced in late April 2021 were the Fire HD 10 and Fire HD 10 Plus. Both followed a similar launch strategy implemented with the Fire HD 8 and HD 8 Plus. Both the tablets arrive in 32GB and 64GB storage configurations and begin at $150 and $180. The Kids tablets are available at $100 for the Fire 7 Kids Pro. And the Fire HD 8 Kids Pro costs $140 and $200 for the Fire HD 10 Kids Pro.

What Did I Like About It?

This tablet is a nice option for people who just want a tablet for gaming, read books, or stream Netflix. This is perfect for streaming Amazon Prime video or music from services like Amazon Music, Pandora, Spotify, and others.

It’s light-weighted and gives a nice 10.1-inch display that’s bright, crisp, and colorful. The tablet is made of plastic. Though, the soft-touch finishing prevents it feels cheap. This doesn’t comprise metal or any other higher-end design features as an iPad does.

I found that the stereo speakers are fantastic and play audio from both sides of the tablet. This way, the sound gets balanced while streaming movies in landscape mode. They’re good for listening to music. I liked playing classical during reading books at night and get loud enough audio.

Amazon enhanced its RAM to 4GB this year, so it became a bit faster when browsing applications simultaneously. It didn’t feel lagging to me, even when I opened up Netflix alongside browsing the news.

Another benefit you won’t find in an iPad: it has a microSD card slot for extending the storage. This way, you can download more images, movies, and audio and play when you’re offline. I suggest purchasing the cheapest 32GB model tablet for this purpose, instead of the 64GB model. At the same time, microSD cards are inexpensive and can be readily popped into the side.

What Could Be Improve?

I’ve already highlighted the durability of the Fire HD 10. However, it would be great if it had some sort of official dust and water protection. There should be something to safeguard it from accidental splashes, spills, or occasional Cheeto dust.

I would like to get a Bluetooth keyboard case along with a pointing device or trackpad. I choose the typing experience to that on the Lenovo Chromebook Duet. The Lenovo’s keyboard is quite amazing in terms of usability due to that handy trackpad and kickstand,

I am not saying that I want to click more pictures with the Fire HD 10. Although, I can expect an improvement in the image processing and sensor in the next edition. Yes, this 2021 version comprises a much-enhanced sensor to the 2019 version. The Fire HD 10 has a 5MP camera which is better than the previous edition but not great. Well, I also want access to work-related apps such as slack or zoom.

Should You Buy it?

If you merely want to stream Netflix on the couch or browse Amazon’s services, then you can go for it. But with this tablet, you can’t access useful apps like Slack or Zoom or anything Google-powered.

I guess that’s the people whom Amazon is targeting. It is fine for the people who only want a tablet to watch movies and read books. But I suggest saving some more money and getting the $149.99 model. It has a bit less RAM yet, functions well, and available in three more colors.

But if you need a tablet with a way better browser, premium design, and more apps, save $329 for the iPad. I understand it is more expensive, but it also gives you a better performance.

Xiaomi sub-brand Redmi, as of late, launched its first smartwatch, named the Redmi Watch. The smartwatch has been moderately estimated at $54.95 and accompanies features like all day, everyday pulse following, rest following, in-constructed GPS, and that's only the tip of the iceberg.

Redmi Smartwatch Specs

These are some of the specifications of the Redmi smartwatch. It has a 1.4-inch TFT LCD display, PPG Heart Rate Sensor, Three-axis Acceleration Sensor, Geomagnetic Sensor, Barometer Gyroscope Ambient Light Sensor, GPS GLONASS, Bluetooth 5.1 5, ATM water resistance, 230mAh battery.

Redmi Smartwatch Design

We, as of late, saw spilled renders of the soon to launch seventh-generation Apple Watch, and the Redmi Watch looks very comparative, just with a plastic form missing the computerized crown. I'm not saying that this is something terrible. On the contrary, it looks very great. (There's a motivation behind why Apple Watch is the most sold smartwatch all around the world, aside from the Apple ecosystem. Indeed it looks great.) The watch includes a face size of 20mm, which closely resembles a decent size for a normal estimated hand. It even fit fairly on my bigger-than-normal hands.

The watch is accessible in three watch case color alternatives: Ivory, Black, and Blue, alongside four tie color choices: Ivory, Black, Blue, and Olive. At first, I didn't care for the Ivory alternative that was sent for the audit. The shading developed on me, particularly when I traded out the Ivory lashes for the Black ones. Despite the fact that I loved the shading and the customizability of the look, I would have liked to get the Blue hued case alongside the Olive ties, making it look unpretentious yet extraordinary simultaneously. The packaging is made out of plastic with a 1.4-inch TFT LCD 2.5D bent showcase on the front. The showcase has stout bezels. The front glass board is darkly shaded, which figures out how to shroud the thick bezels well when the presentation isn't being used. The watch dial is flanked with acceptable quality silicone ties, which have a restrictive connector.

The back panel of the watch incorporates the PPG pulse sensor, an unpretentious Redmi marking, and two round charging pins. The Apple Watch accompanies a rotatable Digital Crown as an afterthought; Redmi has taken an alternate course and gives a huge silver catch on the correct edge that is difficult to miss. This assists you with exploring the UI by either opening the primary menu or taking you to the home screen. Going to the form quality, Redmi Watch feels pretty sold, and as I would see, it one of the better-constructed spending plan smartwatches. The watch tumbled from my hands once, with no harm going to the presentation or the back. Be that as it may, there was a little chip close to the silver catch. Aside from the strong form quality, the watch is likewise lovely lightweight, which makes it entirely agreeable to wear. I didn't wear the watch continually because me being at home, all things considered, occasions. Yet, when I had it on, I would fail to remember that it was there. Additionally, for individuals who like to wear their smartwatch consistently, you can likewise wear it into the shower or to a pool (when they open up) because of the 5ATM water obstruction rating. The Redmi Watch is really splendid inside. However, outside under direct daylight, it doesn't figure out how to sparkle yet is noticeable.

Redmi Smartwatch software

The Redmi Watch uses a restrictive working framework, which is quite basic in a budget smartwatch. The (UI) is quite straightforward and doesn't need a lot preparing to utilize. In addition, it is very responsive and highlights a swipe to utilize approach for everything. While the watch feels pretty smooth, running through screens gets bumping with the screen invigorating with each swipe.

Redmi Smartwatch Battery

The Redmi Watch with Heart Rate Monitoring set to 30 minutes, warnings turned on, auto splendor empowered, and GPS following, I had the option to release the Redmi Watch within 5 days completely. Killing the auto pulse observing component improves the battery status and could help in accomplishing the 10-day battery life.

Concluding thoughts

A Redmi smartwatch is a good option at a low price. The UI is very smooth, the following features are acceptable, and the general form of the gadget surpasses assumptions.

Apple’s AirTag item trackers launched with much display at the organization’s event in April. While the firm bragged about its security-centered highlights, a few reports distributed after the launch noticed numerous approaches to follow individuals utilizing this gadget.

The most well-known strategy was to slip an AirTag into somebody’s pack to follow them. Around then, Apple had set AirTags to play a sound following three days of the tracker being isolated from its proprietor. Presently, the organization is reexamining it to an irregular time somewhere in the range of eight and 24 hours. A major change, yet little information on AirTags Android application

Apple’s huge change has to do with the measure of time before an AirTag conveys a ready that it is likely being utilized to follow an individual. Fundamentally, Apple’s product has techniques to decide the probability of “individual following.” If it distinguishes that an AirTag is being utilized to follow an individual, the AirTag itself will make a commotion. This commotion would then caution the followed individual of the AirTags presence.

At dispatch, the AirTag would stand by three days prior to making that clamor. After this new update, the AirTag will trill at an irregular stretch somewhere in the range of eight and 24 hours after discovery. Apple says this prior ready window will make AirTags more secure without hurting convenience.

Although Apple focused on dispatching an Android application this year, it didn’t give any details on how it would function or what highlights would be installed. It’s conceivable we’ll become familiar with it at WWDC 2021, which begins one week from now.

Notwithstanding, it’s not satisfactory if this application would break iOS restrictiveness and empower AirTags to be utilized as thing trackers with Android gadgets.
