  1. Log in to a user profile other than the one in which you want to copy the files.
  2. Click round ‘Start’ button or press ‘Win’ key.
  3. Open ‘My Documents.’
  4. Open the hard drive (C:) in which the Windows is installed.
  5. Double click on the ‘Users.’
  6. Then open the folder of your account.
  7. Double click on ‘My Documents.’
  8. Open ‘Tools’ menu.
  9. And select ‘Folder Options.’
  10. Open ‘View’ tab and select ‘Show hidden files, folders, drives.’
  11. Uncheck the ‘Hide protected operating system files.’
  12. Click ‘Yes’ and then click ‘OK.’
  13. Then browse to the path ‘C:\User\Old_Username’ folder.
  14. Select everything and copy from the folder except “Ntuser.dat, Ntuser.dat.log, and Ntuser.ini.”
  15. Then browse to the path ‘C:\Users\New_Username’ folder.
  16. And paste the copied files.
  17. After that, Log in to your new user account.

Well done! The data from your corrupted user account is now in your new user account.
