Flybe launch Black Friday 2018 sale with cheap flights to Amsterdam from venynx's blog

Flybe has joined the Black Friday excitement for anybody looking to jet off from Birmingham Airport for less.

It has today (19 November 2018) announced a limited time seat sale with £25 one way fares.

The fares are available across 151 of its key routes offering a wide choice of attractive destinations throughout the UK and regional Europe.

These include those to Amsterdam, Milan, Paris and Rome.Travel is effective 8 December 2018 to 27 March, 2019; and those made for travel through to 31 January 2019 also attract double Avios points.

Flybe’s Black Friday sale also features five routes operated by its franchise partner, Stobart Air from Southend to Antwerp, Caen, Gronigen, Lyon and Rennes.Flybe has said it is in talks with a number of "strategic operators" about a possible sale of the group.

Flybe said the decision to put itself up for sale comes amid a range of options being considered as it battles against challenging conditions in the airline industry.

The group has hired Evercore as adviser to help with the review and sales process.

It comes just weeks after Flybe warned over profits following easing demand and a £29 million hit from rising fuel costs and the weak pound.

The airline also announced underlying pre-tax profits of £9.9 million, up from £9.2 million a year earlier, while group revenues fell 2.4% to £409.2 million.

Chief executive Christine Ourmieres-Widener said the group continued to see improvements in the third quarter and said cost savings had already helped to drive progress in boosting profits.
