The Ryder Cup is, hands down, my favorite event in golf. Abdou Diallo Jersey .The Solheim Cup was my favorite event to play during my 17-year career on the LPGA Tour, but as a spectator -- I cashed in all of my frequent flyer and hotel miles to go slog through the mud at Oak Hill in 1995, covered four Ryder Cups as a commentator for ESPN and NBC, and witnessed another as a PGA of America board member -- there is no bigger event for me.So after watching nearly every hour of last weeks matches from the comfort of my home, Ill share a few of my observed highs and lows. The Highs1. Team USAs play in the final moments of the last two sessionsIn the Saturday afternoon four-balls and Sunday singles sessions, seven matches went to the 18th hole. The USA was 5-1-1, fighting through the finish instead of wobbling to the finish as they had in the past. Crucial putts were holed where they had not been previously. That fighters mentality was the difference, not a task force or a committee.2. Point productionEvery American contributed to the teams point total, with even Rickie Fowler, still looking for his first full point win coming into his third Ryder Cup, getting two victories at Hazeltine. The Euros had four players go through the week without contributing even a half-point.3. Overall quality of playGranted, the weather was ideal, but I cannot remember a Ryder Cup with a higher standard of play and fewer holes won with pars or worse. The most extreme example: Sundays single matchup between Phil Mickelson and Sergio Garcia, in which they made 19 birdies combined. Mickelson would have shot a 63 in medal play, and yet they battled to a halve.4. Putting surfacesThey were more smooth than fast, creating opportunities for the players to be aggressive and hole putts as well as shots from off the greens. As a result, the excitement, noise and drama came right through the TV.It was exactly the opposite of the drudgery of the 2004 matches at Oakland Hills, where the greens were so fast and so severe that there was little excitement and where it was not uncommon for holes to be won with pars. Ho-hum, and no thanks.5. Ryder Cup Task ForceThis was not a total win, simply because this could have been done with much less fanfare and perhaps would not have even been necessary if past captains, vice-captains and select players had been debriefed in previous years. Some of the best things to come out of it: more efficient use of time as it pertained to the players day-to-day scheduling, less transit time to/from hotels and fewer social functions. This created more opportunities for necessary bonding, communication, rest and practice. That was a necessary win.6. Playing ThroughSpeaking of TV, the playing through technology, where the split screen is used to enable ads to still run with full audio but alongside uninterrupted live action, was an enormous addition to the telecasts. I found myself actually listening to the audio of commercials because I wasnt annoyed at having to lose the live action and then play catch-up with so many taped shots. It has been used well in auto racing, so lets hope it sees more action in golf as well as other sports that dont have natural breaks in live action.7. The build-outs and infrastructure at Hazeltine NationalAfter seeing the wall-to-wall blue at Gleneagles create a distinctive home-field feel two years ago, the PGA of America made a concerted effort to bathe Hazeltine in red, making that advantage more visible and palpable. And wow, did they do it and do it right. From the first tee to the final green, it was indeed Americas home turf. If it wasnt green grass, it was red structures surrounding it.8. Thomas PietersThe American-educated rookie pick looked like he needed CPR on the first tee Friday morning, but by Sunday he had amassed a 4-1 record, showing passion, composure and reliability that will bode well for the Euros for decades to come. Hello, future.9. Junior Ryder CupPlayed at nearby Interlachen Country Club earlier in the week, the Ryder Cup continues to invest in its future by supporting this competition, which officially began in 1997. The USA won again this year and holds a 6-4 lead overall, but the dividends are already paying off with players on both sides of the Atlantic, such as?Rory McIlroy and Jordan Spieth, seeing action in the matches proper.10. Closing ceremonyNeat, tidy, speedy and right to the point, with only the host, players, captains, vice-captains and those speaking in an official capacity on stage. What do we do to bring this simplicity back to the opening ceremonies that have become so much pomp and pageantry with so little circumstance? The Lows1. Vanishing senses of humorDanny Willetts brothers blog about American fans sent venom and an embarrassing amount of highly personal and hateful taunting through the crowd at Hazeltine, albeit a very vocal super-minority.If you do nothing else in your life, please take a bit of time to understand pithy humor. Youll be better for it. Danny Willett was right to say on Monday that most of his brothers humor about Americans had actually played out to be true. I made the remark a couple of decades ago after a Solheim Cup match that without the LPGA, the Euros, their tour struggling mightily at the time, would be bagging groceries.A firestorm erupted for about 48 hours (yes, it was before social media or I am sure it would have lived longer). But to this day, Helen Alfredsson, a longtime member of the European team and past Solheim Cup captain, and I still laugh about it.Speaking of social media, I tweeted about the American spectator who was heckling Justin Rose about not being able to make a putt in the practice round and offering up a $100 challenge. Well, the spectator delivered by making the putt, the Euro players and caddies celebrated with him and signed that $100 bill. I thought it was terrific. What better time for that sort of fun than in a practice round? Some guy tweeted back to me that the spectator never should have been heckling him to begin with. Seriously, come on, people. Its a practice round! I spent part of Saturday morning walking in a Susan G. Komen fundraiser in Albany, New York, supporting a friend who has been cancer-free for five years. Now that is something to take seriously.2. Phil Mickelsons trashing of Hal SuttonEarlier in the week, Mickelson criticized the 2004 U.S. Ryder Cup captain. What good did that do? Yes, Mickelson realized he had gone too far and reached out to Sutton -- thank goodness -- but how did he go through all of the details of the pairing with Tiger Woods, the difficulty of making a golf ball change with super short notice, but also fail to mention he himself had made major club changes right before the matches began?Mickelson is going to be a captain someday, and rightly so. Maybe then hell realize just how many decisions have to be made and the short periods of time in which you have to make them.Laundry of that sort needs to be cleaned in house and with an order for express pickup, not 12 years later.3. Roses commentsThe Englishmans comments in the Sunday evening European Team news conference caught me completely by surprise. Rose is one of the most pleasant and thoughtful people youll ever want to be around, so for him to whine about the incredibly weak course setup at Hazeltine was a real shocker. Given 24 hours to cool off, he might not have said the same. While not personally a fan of the architecture of the course, I thought the setup was brilliant. It encouraged and rewarded aggressive play without the players being handcuffed by lightning fast green speeds. It made for exciting theatre, drama, noise and thrilling sport.4. Team USAs white pants on Saturday.See-through specials. Wow, what a fashion felony that would have taken only a top-quality lining to rectify. Enough said.5. No Russell KnoxTwo PGA Tour wins in the past year, and he wasnt a captains pick for Europe. You can debate all day on whom he could/should have replaced, but between veterans Lee Westwood and Martin Kaymer, they produced only one point.Yes, Europe had six rookies, but at what point do you abandon form for experience? Only European captain Darren Clarke has that answer.6. Stay on messageCan we keep the administrator/leadership spots on news programming or in dedicated ad space instead of taking up valuable live air time? This doesnt go for just the Ryder Cup, but all sports. Now that we have options such as Playing Through, lets blend those messages that way. It would amp up the viewing experience for everyone while still relaying that important social and corporate message.High, low or anywhere in between, the Ryder Cup is still the pinnacle of sports events for me, and like in life, if were not moving forward, we are in retreat. Just my two cents on how to take a few leaps in the forward direction. Roman Burki Jersey . SAN DIEGO -- London is not calling for Major League Baseball next year. The players association says MLB has given up plans to play regular-season games in the British capital in 2017.Baseball Commissioner Rob Manfred said in January that his staff was working hard at playing in London, and MLB officials looked at the renovated Olympic Stadium as a possible venue. There was discussion about London early on, union head Tony Clark said Monday. Unfortunately there were a number of moving pieces related to London that shortened our window in an effort to try to find common ground on that happening, and we werent able to get it done in time.Clark also was non-committal about having players on 25-man active rosters made available for the 2020 Olympics, which will be held in Tokyo from July 24-Aug. 9. The International Olympic Committee executive board voted last month to support a six-nation tournament that year in both baseball and womens softball, and the full IOC is to vote in August. Marouane Fellaini Jersey. Baseball became a medal sport for the 1992 Barcelona Olympics but was dropped for the 2012 London Games and wont be played this year in Rio de Janeiro. In 2008, only those not on 25-man big league rosters as of late June were allowed to compete -- the U.S. team included Jake Arrieta and Stephen Strasburg -- both All-Stars this year.Is there an appreciation for the value of having baseball in the Olympics? Yes, there is, Clark said. Is there an appreciation for the season and how or if it could work with our active players? Yeah, theres a conversation, but we run into the same roadblocks we always have. Niles Paul Jersey . -- Bret Bielema did his best to remind anyone who was listening throughout the week that Arkansas only losses this season were to No. 1 Alabama and No. 6 Texas A&M.That included the No. 22 Razorbacks, who clearly took their coachs message to heart in a 34-30 win over No. 12 Mississippi on Saturday night. The win didnt have quite the suspense of Arkansas (5-2, 1-2 Southeastern Conference) thrilling overtime win over the Rebels (3-3, 1-2) a year ago, but it was every bit as important -- especially following a deflating 49-30 loss at home to the Crimson Tide a week ago.I told the guys, `Lets do whatever we have to do to protect this house, Bielema said. They never wavered and needed help from the crowd, and they delivered.Austin Allen was at his usual best on Saturday night, completing 19 of 32 passes for 228 yards and three touchdowns. The junior now has an SEC-best 18 touchdown passes for the season, and he had plenty of help in the form of Rawleigh Williams career-best 180 rushing yards on 27 carries.Despite the dynamic run-pass combination, the Razorbacks didnt secure the win until Jared Cornelius 6-yard touchdown scamper on second-and-goal late in the fourth quarter. The offensive line kind of stretched, the defense jumped to the outside, I stuck my foot in the ground and the hole opened up like the Red Sea, Cornelius said. The win was the third in a row for the Razorbacks over Ole Miss, which has now lost three of its first six games a season after winning the Sugar Bowl.Chad Kelly accounted for 342 yards of total offense for the Rebels, throwing for 253 yards and rushing for 89 more. The senior also threw for a touchdown and ran for two more, but he fumbled while scrambling on a fourth-and-16 to put an end to Ole Miss two-game winning streak.Evan Engram led the Rebels with seven catches for 111 yards and a touchdown. The two teams entered Saturday with the two most efficient quarterbacks in the SEC, and neither Kelly nor Allen disappointed. The duo combined for 571 yards of total offense. It was Cornelius, however, who had the final say with his 6-yard touchdown run with 2:20 remaining. Were in the games and competing, Rebels coach Hugh Freeze said. Weve got to see the big picture, even though its hard to right now, sitting here.THE TAKEAWAYOle Miss: The Rebels entered the game 102nd in the country in total defense, allowing 449.4 yards per game. They once again struggled on Saturday by allowing 429 total yards to Arkansas, a number that was more than 450 before the Razorbacks purposely took several large losses while running out the clock on the games final drive.Arkansas: The Razorbacks still have offensive line concerns after allowing three more sacks of Allen, but they moved the ball consistently through the air and on the ground. That gives them renewed hope with only SEC games left on the schedule this season.POLL IMPLICATIONSArkansas was in danger of falling out of the rankings, but now its likely to once again push its way into the top 20 , perhaps even surpassing the Rebels. With all 32 NFL teams now in training camp, the whirlwind NFL offseason is officially over. http://www.texansrookiestore.com/Texans-Jj-Watt-Jersey/ . To catch you up, NFL Nation details the most important thing that happened to each team -- from head coach hirings to player suspensions to key draft moves.AFC West | AFC North | AFC South | AFC East NFC West | NFC North | NFC South | NFC EastAFC WESTDenver BroncosSigning Von Miller long termThe negotiations werent easy, but the Broncos vastly improved their outlook when Miller accepted the largest contract for a non-quarterback in league history -- $114.5 million with $70 million in guarantees. It showed commitment to a popular player in the locker room and their franchise defender on the field. Had the contentiousness of the negotiations escalated into a full-blown holdout in the regular season, players would have wondered about the teams commitment to winning. Instead, the deal puts the Broncos in position to compete for their sixth consecutive?division title. -- Jeff LegwoldKansas City ChiefsJustin Houston tearing his ACLThe Chiefs outlook for the season was altered in the middle of February, when Houston had surgery for a balky ACL. Houston is the Chiefs best pass rusher -- he ranks second in the league since 2012 with 50.5 sacks -- but hes also a superb presence when playing the run or dropping into coverage. The Chiefs remain optimistic Houston will return to play in 2016, but the bigger, unresolved issues are when and how effective he will be. -- Adam TeicherOakland RaidersAttracting top-tier free agentsFor the first time in recent memory, Oakland became a destination for highly sought-after free agents. Guys like LB Bruce Irvin, CB Sean Smith, LG Kelechi Osemele and FS Reggie Nelson saw Silver and Blackdom as a fashionable fit, giving credence to the notion that the Raiders are on the upswing. Yeah, thats important. -- Paul GutierrezSan Diego ChargersSigning Matt SlausonThe Chargers were in need of help at center and found a diamond in the rough during free agency when the Chicago Bears released Slauson. The 30-year-old Nebraska product served as an experienced anchor and decisive voice up front during offseason work. San Diegos offensive line needs to stay healthy and play better for the Chargers to have a realistic chance of making the playoffs in 2016. -- Eric D. WilliamsAFC NORTHBaltimore RavensDrafting Ronnie Stanley over Laremy TunsilTunsil was considered the top offensive tackle in the draft, but the Ravens opted to select Stanley with the No. 6 overall pick after Tunsils gas-mask video. Stanley was the first offensive lineman selected and is the highest draft pick by the Ravens in 16 years. The addition of Stanley allowed Baltimore to part ways with the unreliable and expensive Eugene Monroe. Stanley will also become the first rookie in the Ravens 20-year history to start the season opener at left tackle, protecting?Joe Flaccos blindside as the quarterback?recovers from season-ending knee surgery. -- Jamison HensleyCincinnati BengalsLosing Marvin Jones in free agencyOn the first day of free agency, Jones wasted little time rejecting the Bengals?offer in favor of a similar one from the Detroit Lions. The wideout was ready to carve his own path with a new team, and to have a chance to be more of a No. 1 receiver than he had been for four seasons in Cincinnati. Jones affected the Bengals remaining free-agency objectives and impacted their most immediate draft needs. As training camp begins, the Bengals are still trying to figure out what life in their pass-catching rotation will look like beyond premier receiver A.J. Green. -- Coley HarveyCleveland BrownsHiring Hue JacksonAfter firing their fourth coach in six seasons, the Browns had to hire someone with credibility. Enter Jackson, who has head-coaching experience, enjoyed success as an assistant and is viewed as one of the leagues best quarterback mentors. His hiring brought the team the credibility it needed on the sideline. The fans reaction? Jackson has been fully embraced. -- Pat McManamonPittsburgh SteelersMartavis Bryant getting suspendedThe league handed down Bryants year-long ban?in March, disrupting an otherwise quiet offseason for the Steelers and removing a primary playmaker from a potentially historic offense. The Steelers are equipped to handle losses, but Bryants big-play ability (12 touchdowns in his first 13 NFL games)?complemented Antonio Browns?skill set?perfectly.?This was one of those shocking stories?that shaped the Steelers offseason, and?reminded of the risks involved in drafting players with character red flags coming out of college. -- Jeremy FowlerAFC SOUTHHouston TexansSigning Brock OsweilerOsweiler went 5-2 as a starter in 2015 for the Broncos, and the Texans saw enough promise to make their first commitment to a quarterback since signing Matt Schaub to an extension in 2012. This is the most important position in football, and Osweiler can give a major boost to the Texans. -- Tania GanguliIndianapolis ColtsHiring Joe PhilbinMaking?Andrew Luck?the?highest paid player in NFL history? That was expected. Drafting a center in the first round? That was necessary. But hiring Philbin to revamp the teams offensive line was the most important move the Colts made all offseason. Philbin has?experience developing offensive lines and the Colts need guidance in that area. They continually struggled protecting Luck?during his first four seasons. -- Mike WellsJacksonville JaguarsSigning Tashaun GipsonGipsons addition?didnt generate the headlines that the DT Malik Jackson signing did, but its arguably the more important defensive addition. For the first time in Gus Bradleys tenure, he has a player capable of playing single-high coverage. Thats the key to his defensive scheme and Gipson has already shown flashes of being around the ball during OTAs and minicamps more than the Jaguars have seen from that position for a while. -- Mike DiRoccoTennessee TitansHiring Jon RobinsonRobinson has been a giant home run through his half-year as GM. He moved out of the No. 1 spot in the draft -- and then traded back up to No. 8 to get?Jack Conklin. He has made a point of drafting and signing tough, dependable, team-first players and spurred a major revamping of the teams headquarters. On the heels of two GMs who did poor personnel work and had weak public personas, Robinson is a native Tennessean who is hugely popular with the fan base. -- Paul KuharskyAFC EASTBuffalo BillsSigning Cordy Glenn long termGlenn?is one of the quieter players in the Bills locker room, but at 345 pounds, hes also one of the NFLs largest, and the Bills are thrilled they were able to retain their mammoth left tackle this offseason. Glenn, 26, was coming off his best season as a pro and had his first opportunity to hit the open market as a free agent. The Bills assigned Glenn the franchise tag and reached a long-term deal within days. They paid a steep price -- $65 million over five years, including $36 million in guarantees -- partly because they whiffed on 2014 second-round tackle Cyrus Kouandjio. -- Mike RodakMiami DolphinsHiring Adam GaseGase, 38, is the youngest head coach in the NFL and has the potential to bring an end to Miamis coaching carousel. The Dolphins third head coach in six years, Gase is bringing new ideas and new energy to a team that hasnt?made the playoffs since 2008. The team hopes Gases success working with quarterbacks rubs off on Ryan Tannehill. -- James WalkerNew England PatriotsTom Brady having his suspension reinstatedThe NFLs four-game ban of Brady was reaffirmed in court, then Bradys appeal for a rehearing was denied. Brady decided against pursuing the legal process, meaning the Patriots will turn to Jimmy Garoppolo for the first quarter of 2016, when theyll travel to Arizona and host the Dolphins, Texans and Bills. -- Mike ReissNew York JetsSigning their two most important free agentsThe Jets retained DE Muhammad Wilkerson for five years and brought back QB Ryan Fitzpatrick at the 11th hour. They lost NT Damon Harrison to the Giants, but two out of three aint bad. From a cap standpoint, it wouldve been almost impossible to keep all three. -- Rich CiminiNFC WESTArizona CardinalsTrading for Chandler JonesBringing back every player who caught a pass from quarterback Carson Palmer and every offensive player who scored a touchdown is nearly unheard of. But by?adding Jones, Arizona plugged the one gap that was a liability last season: rushing the passer. Jones had 12.5 sacks last season, so a repeat performance has become almost expected out of the 26-year-old. The Cardinals now have as stout of a pass rush as it does an offense, all thanks to Jones. -- Josh WeinfussLos Angeles RamsTrading up to draft Jared GoffTheres plenty to choose from here, including the teams relocation to Los Angeles, but that wont determine the teams on-field fate nearly as much as the bold selection of Goff.?The Rams hope that Goff can claim the starting job sooner than later but he has a steep learning curve after playing in a spread system in college. The Rams need someone -- ideally Goff -- to improve on their league-worst 35.6 QBR of a year ago in order to move past their recent mediocrity. -- Nick WagonerSan Francisco 49ersHiring Chip KellyDespite sitting on a boatload of cap room, the Niners didnt dive deep into free agency, instead opting to lean on building through the draft and allowing Kelly to establish his culture. The Niners hope Kelly can revitalize an offense that finished last in offensive points per game, 31st in yards per game and 30th in sacks allowed. -- Paul GutierrezSeattle SeahawksMarshawn Lynch retiringSure, there was a natural transition last year when Lynch only played in seven regular-season games because of injury, and Thomas Rawls ran for 830 yards. But Lynch was -- and still is -- revered by fans and teammates. No running back in the NFL carried the ball more from 2011 to 2014. Russell Wilson is only 27 and still getting better. The defense is loaded with young talent and has led the league in fewest points allowed for four straight seasons. And the Seahawks are in great shape to make another run at a Super Bowl. But theres no denying that things will be different without Lynch in the building and on the field. -- Sheil KapadiaNFC NORTHChicago BearsLetting Matt Forte walk in free agencyForte was the second-most productive running back in franchise history next to Hall of Famer Walter Payton, but Chicago opted not to re-sign the 30-year-old in free agency. That leaves a huge void in Chicagos backfield that multiple tailbacks will attempt to fill -- Jeremy Langford, Jordan Howard, KaDeem Carey and Jacquizz Rodgers?-- but none compare to Forte, who leads the NFL in all-purpose yards since 2008. If the Bears cannot successfully run the football, quarterback Jay Cutler will have to take more chances in the passing game, which could lead to disastrous results and costly turnovers. -- Jeff DickersonDetroit LionsHiring Bob QuinnCalvin Johnson retiring will get all the headlines and will impact the immediate on-field performance, but choosing Quinn as GM has a chance to shape the future of the franchise for the foreseeable future. The Lions moved quickly to get their guy, announcing the move less than a week after Detroits season ended. -- Michael RothsteinGreen Bay PackersEddie Lacy losing weightThe Packers surely wouldve liked to have been able to say that the return of Jordy Nelson?(ACL) to the field after missing all of last season was the biggest thing that happened to them this offseason. But that hasnt happened yet. Nelson experienced a setback when he injured his other knee and is on the physically unable to perform list. Still, he hopes to be ready for Week 1. For now, theyll have to settle for the next-best thing: Eddie Lacys dedication to his fitness. He spent two separate stints working out with P90X founder Tony Horton in an effort to bounce back from his worst season as a pro. -- Rob DemovskyMinnesota VikingsFixing the offensive lineRe-tooling the O-line was Mike Zimmers biggest priority after the 2015 season, and the Vikings wasted little time getting to work there, signing guard Alex Boone and tackle Andre Smith in free agency. The Vikings have six offensive linemen entering at least their fifth year in the league, and theyll sort things out through a heated competition in training camp. They hope the end result is a group that provides better protection for Teddy Bridgewater, who was pressured on a league-high 36 percent of his dropbacks last season. -- Ben GoesslingNFC SOUTHAtlanta FalconsReleasing Roddy WhiteWhite was unhappy with his role under offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan and voiced his displeasure out the door. The Falcons moved forward with the signing of Mohamed Sanu. Now its up to Sanu to make White supporters move forward, too. -- Vaughn McClureCarolina PanthersReleasing -- and then re-signing -- Charles JohnsonIt would be easy to say revoking Josh Normans franchise tag and letting the Pro Bowl cornerback go to Washington. But the choice to cut Johnson cleared?$11 million under the salary cap, before the Panthers brought him back on a one-year, $3 million deal. Johnson showed in the playoffs with a sack in each of Carolinas three games that he still has something left. Hes also a huge leader in the locker room. Keeping him and clearing that much cap space was arguably the biggest bargain of free agency. -- David NewtonNew Orleans SaintsKeeping Sean PaytonThe most important event of the entire Saints offseason came during the very first week, when Payton and the Saints recommitted to each other after flirting with the idea of splitting up. Although he has been around for 10 years and the Saints are coming off of back-to-back 7-9 seasons, the Saints are confident Payton is the right man to lead a rebuilding process that began with a very young roster last season. Already, there are some tweaks to the practice schedule and overall vibe this summer, with Payton promising tougher, longer practice sessions and stressing a highly competitive atmosphere. -- Mike TriplettTampa Bay BuccaneersRevamping the secondaryThe Bucs needed help everywhere on defense, particularly in the secondary. So they went out and signed free-agent CB?Brent Grimes?and drafted CB?Vernon Hargreaves III. Thats good news for a unit that allowed the highest completion percentage in the league from opposing quarterbacks (70 percent), the second-highest passer rating (102.5) and was tied for fifth-most passing touchdowns allowed with 31. -- Jenna LaineNFC EASTDallas CowboysKey defenders getting suspendedThe suspensions of Rolando McClain (10 games), Randy Gregory (four games, maybe more) and DeMarcus Lawrence (four games) greatly impact the Cowboys outlook on defense in 2016. Lawrence led the Cowboys in sacks last season. McClain has made plays when healthy. Gregory was being counted on to make a jump from his rookie season. Not having three potential impact players for a combined 18 games will force Rod Marinelli to come up with different lineups, while also putting more pressure on the offense to score a ton of points to overcome some defensive shortcomings. -- Todd ArcherNew York GiantsHiring Ben McAdooAll the lucrative free-agent signings the Giants made this offseason pale in comparison to the naming of McAdoo as their head coach to replace Tom Coughlin. Its a move that determines the fate of the franchise not only?this season, but for at least the next 3-5 years. The Giants gambled on a 39-year-old offensive coordinator to fill Coughlins massive shoes and make the difficult, necessary changes that they hope will end a four-year playoff drought. McAdoos signing may not have been their most expensive offseason move, but it was their biggest.?-- Jordan RaananPhiladelphia EaglesDrafting Carson WentzCoaching changes are pretty hard to top when it comes to offseason moves that have an impact, but the Eagles managed to do it. Their biggest move was the investment in players and draft picks they made to trade up and select Wentz?with the No. 2 overall pick. If Doug Pederson wasnt the right hire, the Eagles can find another coach. If Wentz isnt the player the Eagles need him to be, they will be stuck in QB limbo for the next few years. -- Phil SheridanWashington RedskinsSigning Josh Norman and losing?Junior Galette?to?injuryThis is a tie in my book, with Galettes torn Achilles coming earlier this week. Norman provides a presence and swagger in the secondary, not to mention a talented player. But losing Galette, who could have been a dynamic edge rusher, has put the Redskins in a tough spot. They now lack experienced depth behind?Ryan Kerrigan and Preston Smith?at outside linebacker. -- John Keim http://www.texansrookiestore.com/Texans-Arian-Foster-Jersey/ . They dropped a 3-0 decision to last-place Chicago on Saturday, but dont have much time to sulk.Montreal will look to bounce back Wednesday at Stade Saputo in a quick turnaround match against D.C. United, the team directly below it in the Eastern Conference.Despite Saturdays head-scratching loss to the Fire, the Impact (8-7-9) remained in fifth place with 33 points. D.C. United (6-8-10, 28 points) is clinging to the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference, and is currently riding a four-game unbeaten streak. The two teams met three weeks ago, with Montreals Herman Bernardello delivering a late equalizer in a 1-1 draw on July 31 at RFK Stadium. After the game, D.C. United defender Steve Birnbaum called the performance the best we played all year.Everyone looked after each other, I thought we pressed well as a group, put them on their heels and were on the attack the whole time, Birnbaum told reporters after the draw. A lot of posittives from this game. http://www.texansrookiestore.com/Texans-Lamar-Miller-Jersey/. atrick Mullins had D.C. Uniteds goal in the previous meeting against Montreal and did it again in his last outing, scoring in a 2-2 draw with the New York Red Bulls.Mullins is one of Uniteds new additions, along with Lloyd Sam, who were brought in to spark what had been a sluggish offensive attack. D.C. United has six goals in its last three outings. Alvaro Saborio leads the club with four goals. But D.C. United has only one win on the road this season, and Montreal has been stellar for the most part at Stade Saputo, with the loss to Chicago the glaring exception. The Fire had not won on the road all season, until stunning the Impact on Saturday.Still, Montreal has been steady at home, going 6-6-3, and possesses two of the leagues most explosive playmakers in Ignacio Piatti and Didier Drogba. The native of Mont-Tremblant, Que., captured a World Cup downhill event Saturday, his second this year and fifth career victory on the circuit. Nonito Donaire has been a professional fighter for 15 years. Jessie Magdaleno has been getting paid to punch for just six years.Donaire is a former fighter of the year (2012) and has won world titles in four weight classes from flyweight to featherweight, five if you include the interim belt he won as a junior bantamweight. He has faced many top opponents (including Fernando Montiel, Vic Darchinyan, Jorge Arce, Toshiaki Nishioka, Omar Narvaez, Moruti Mthlane, Nicholas Walters and Guillermo Rigondeaux), was long considered one of the top 10 fighters in the world pound-for-pound and has more knockouts than Magdaleno has fights. Magdaleno has had only two fights scheduled for at least 10 rounds and never faced an opponent remotely considered even a top 20 contender in his division. But Donaire is also 33 and Magdaleno is a fresh 24-year-old.It is that kind youth versus experience fight on that is on tap as Donaire gets set to defend his junior featherweight world title for the second time when he faces Magdaleno, his mandatory challenger, on Saturday night (Top Rank PPV, 9 ET) on the Manny Pacquiao-Jessie Vargas undercard at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas.Donaire (37-3, 24 KOs) was complimentary of Magdaleno but believes his vast experience will carry the day in a fight that many expect will be an exciting battle.Magdaleno is very talented and he has a good amount of speed and a good amount of power, Donaire said. As I looked to study him he has pretty good pop and lateral movement and speed. Im excited to be fighting him. I love the challenge but I think that my experience is going to be a big, key factor. He has never faced anyone who can punch like I do or move like I can. Hes in the big leagues now. I know that Im going to dominate this fight. Hes more of a textbook fighter and easy to read.Countered Magdaleno: Nonito is a great champion. We both have a lot of speed and power but, honestly, I think age will be a big factor in this fight. After losing his featherweight world title by sixth-round stoppage to Nicholas Walters in October 2014, Donaire, of Las Vegas, returned to the junior featherweight division, where he has won four fights in a row, including a vacant junior featherweight belt by hard-fought decision against Cesar Juarez in December. Donaire made his first defense in his native Philippines in April, knocking out Zsolt Bedak in the third round.Magdaleno (23-0, 17 KOs), a southpaw from Las Vegas and the younger brother of longtime lightweight contender Diego Magdaleno, may not have ever faced a quality opponent but he has all the confidence that he will win the 122-pound title.I am going against Nonito, who is smart in the ring and has a dangerous leeft hook I must deal with, Magdaleno said. Danny Salazar Jersey. A real good, hard shot to the body will take away some of his left hook power. And once he really opens up its better for me to get in big punches. He will be strong for about five rounds then there will be a fade and we will take it over. Hes a tough competitor for sure, but this is my dream fight, not his.It may not be Donaires dream fight, but it will be his first fight under the tutelage of trainer Ismael Salas, who used to train in the powerhouse Cuban amateur system.Donaire had reunited with his father, Nonito Donaire Sr., after a lengthy estrangement for recent bouts, but though the younger Donaire said he and his father remain on good terms, he wanted to return to his Northern California home rather than stay in Las Vegas to train his son.Donaire said Salas has brought a lot to his training camp.My experience with Salas has been great the way he teaches. Its been incredible, said Donaire, who has been with Salas for about 10 weeks. Being here in Vegas Ive seen Salas around the gyms so many times and talked to him. Hes an incredible guy and I decided to try him out. I saw him a few times how he goes about his training. I tried him for a week and I decided from then on this is the trainer who will get me [to] a different level.Magdaleno is equally confident in his own trainer, Manny Robles Jr., whose stable also includes featherweight world titleholder Oscar Valdez (who also defends on the card) as well as light heavyweight contender Vyacheslav Shabranskyy and middleweight prospect Jason Quigley. The fight with Donaire will be Magdalenos first under Robles guidance since parting ways with longtime trainer Joel Diaz.I am only 24 and have of the best trainers in Manny Robles, Magdaleno said.Said Robles: Fighters like a lot of attention, a trainer who cares for him. That was my priority when I began training Jessie for this big title fight against Nonito Donaire. Jessie has done everything weve asked. We pay a lot of attention to him and he has responded with such hard training and dedication.Jessie has sparred for many rounds and he is totally prepared to beat Donaire. In the end it might comes down to the youth versus experience. Perhaps the difference will be in something the trainer picks up on and exhorts the fighter to make an adjustment to. Or it could simply come down to whichever man lands the best big shot.Nonito and Jessie each have one-punch knockout power, Top Rank matchmaker Brad Abdul Goodman said. This could be a one-punch knockout fight but I am not sure who wins it. Defending Wimbledon champion Novak Djokovic trails American Sam Querrey in their third round match. Andrew Miller Jersey . Djokovic has rallied from two sets down four times in his career.Watch here Tyler Naquin Jersey . Ouellette, from Montreal, already has three Olympic gold medals since joining the team in 1999. Lonnie Chisenhall Jersey .J. -- Marty Brodeur beat the Pittsburgh Penguins yet again. http://www.indiansteamproshop.com/Indians-Carlos-Carrasco-Kids-Jersey/ . Cubs fans from 5 years old to 95 are united by two things: misery and heartbreak. Udonis Haslem Jersey . Ahead of the Cubs postseason run -- one with more expectations than many can remember -- we spanned the generations to find out what keeps the Chicago faithful coming back to Wrigley Field.?Jacquelyn Munsterman, 33, and babyMy husband took me to my first Cubs game when we were in college. It was windy and cold, and game went to extra innings. We had school the next day, so we had to leave. And then we heard the whole crowd erupt just as we were walking away. We left just a tad too early. The babys sisters name is Addison -- I think my husband had some hidden motives with that one. This one wont be Cubs-related, but shell be a fan. She doesnt get a choice.?Alex and Mya Gerstein, 9Mya: My favorite player is Addison Russell.Alex: Mines Anthony Rizzo. And we get hot dogs when we come to the games. I get ketchup on mine.Mya: I get celery salt.?Reece, 11, and Rylan Nowak, 10Reece: The first game we came to, well, there was a lot of people, and I remember we sat in like where the wind tunnel is, and it was like really cold. Rylan: And it was humongous.?Reece: I know we got cotton candy and some drinks.?Rylan: It was the Cubs and Cardinals. This year weve been to three: one of them was against the Dodgers, one of them was against the Rangers, and one of them was against the Diamondbacks. Every time we went, they won.?Puja Patel, 28My husband and I had a baseball-themed reception. We went to a Cubs-Sox game on our fourth date, and it just kind of built from there. The proposal itself didnt have anything to do with the Cubs, but when we were thinking of doing a Save the Date, I came across a Cubs ticket. We didnt want to pick a Cubs ticket as the Save the Date and not do anything to follow up with it.The wedding program was a baseball scorecard. We mirrored off of an old Cubs theme, August of 1988 because that was the year we were born, and thats the month we were married in. Our reception was baseball-themed, as well. Instead of having our guests have a table number, they were assigned to a stadium.?Anthony Stokes, 39When the Cubs win the World Series, its definitely going to be a dynasty. I dont think theyre gonna stop from here. Theyre the best team in baseball for a reason.?Rob Amesquita, 48I love it here. Anyone who knows me knows that from around the end of April to the end of September, this is where Im gonna be.We sat up on the roof in 84 and 89, and (San Franciscos) Will Clark broke our heart in 89 and hit that grand slam. (Andre) Dawson couldnt buy a hit that year. It was just like, this is what were born into. You just know that one year, its gonna be our year, and you just wanna be there when it happens.?David Silbasi, 53Theyre expected to win. Its not just like earlier near-misses. They werent the team to beat. They were always going to be a contender, but no one expected them to win. Now, theyre the runaway best team in baseball, and now the pressures on them. It will be even harder, I think, to overcome. Its beyond my imagination that this year is even possible. But my heart is too hardened to think were going all the way. Im keeping a healthy skeptics perspective.Sharon Blogg, 69Well, I think whether we win it or not, if I pass away like a lot of older people do -- although Im only 69 -- so I think that I just have no regrets in a way. Just being a Cubs fan, just coming every day and enjoying the Cubs, that is far better for me than winning the World Series. Ive had so many good experiences with the Cubs. Thereve been some tragic experiences for me: in 69, also 84. I was here for the Bartman game. That was a heartbreaker, too.??Bob Byrne, 75Even if we dont win, its still been the best year in baseball that Ive ever had. Most of the 41,000 people here every day would say the same thing.?Ann Lantolf, 82My first Cubs game was in 1961. My husband and I had just moved out here from New York, but Im originally from Pennsylvania. It was in September, so it was a late game. We got one box seat, it was on the first-base side right down by the dugout, and I came to the game. My husband stayed home to take care of the kids. And the Cubs won! Oh my God, unbelievable. Unbelievable. The ivy just blew my mind. And Ive been a fan ever since.?Henry Swiatek, 95I grew up with the Cubs. I went to Lane Tech High School, and I would go with some of the fellas in the neighborhood there. Wed go together, and wed go by streetcar from Armitage Avenue to Clark Street and then Clark to Wrigley Field. Two years ago, I was honored as a World War II veteran. My grandson set it up. They called my name over the PA system. To this day I say, Oh my god, I cant believe I was honored at Wrigley. Wayne Ellington Jersey . Newcastle dominated in the early stages but City weathered the storm and then raised its game in extra time. Negredo broke the deadlock from close range after a simple move in the 99th minute before Dzeko took the ball round goalkeeper Tim Krul to seal the victory in the 105th. Custom Miami Heat Jerseys . Halladay signed a one-day contract with the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday that allowed the veteran right-hander to retire as a member of team with which he broke into the majors and spent the bulk of his distinguished 16-year career. http://www.authenticbasketballshopheat.com/glen-rice-heat-jersey/ . Barcelonas entertaining victory ensured the defending Spanish champions retained their share of the league lead with Atletico Madrid two rounds ahead of their meeting in the capital. Real Madrid needed a late goal by substitute Jese Rodriguez to earn a 3-2 victory at Valencia to stay in third place and three points behind its title rivals. Having picked themselves off the mat at the foot of the Premier League, Stoke City try to make it seven unbeaten Saturday when they host Bournemouth at bet365 Stadium. The Potters (3-4-4) endured a ghastly start to the season with one point from their first five matches, shipping 14 goals in the process. But Mark Hughes made some needed adjustments to the defence, and Stoke have claimed 12 points from their last six matches to climb to 12th in the table, trailing Southampton and West Bromwich Albion on goal difference. The first five games or however long it was, we didnt really show how well were capable of doing in the games, midfielder Glenn Whelan told Stoke City Player. We just werent getting the luck that we needed but we knew that we were a good side.Weve got good players and we knew itd turn; people are talking now about us being six unbeaten and its really good. It goes to show how good a squad weve got and how food we are as a dressing room to turn things around. It also helps when players are bagging goals two at a time.Prior to their 1-1 draw against West Ham United before the international break, Joe Allen, Xherdan Shaqiri and Wilfried Bony all had braces to power the Potters to victories. While it didnt happen against the Hammers, it is clear theyve improved their game on both sides -- Stoke have outscored opponents 10-4 during their purple patch. One player, however, who has yet to find his bearings is striker Marko Arnautovic, who sat out the West Ham match due to yellow card accumulation. After leading Stoke City with 12 goals in all competitions last season, the Austria international has one goal in league play, two overall and has failed to score in his last six matches for club and country following a qualifier against Ireland and a friendly versus Croatia during the break.Bournemouth (3-3-5) are nipping at Stokes heels in 13th place, one point back, but unlike the Potters, the international break came at an ideal time for the Cherries. After a splendid two-match spell in which they smashed Hull City 6-1 and held Tottenham Hotspur to a scoreless draw, Eddie Howes men stumbled with back-to-back losses to Middlesbrouugh and previously winless and last-place Sunderland. Shaquille ONeal Jersey. .Having lost back-to-back games, it could be a good time for us to reflect and work hard on the training ground to try and put some things right, captain Steve Francis said. But make no mistake, we would have loved to get some points from the last two games because theres some tough games coming up.Following this match, the Cherries travel to London to face Arsenal before hosting table-toppers Liverpool on Dec. 4, and also play reigning champions Leicester City in a midweek clash Dec. 13 after playing at Burnley three days prior. While much has been made of Jack Wilshires impact on the team following his arrival from the Gunners before the close of the transfer window, getting forward Joshua King going would also prove beneficial to Bournemouth. He has goals in his last two appearances for Norway but has gone without one in four Premier League contests since netting versus Watford on Oct. 1.The break in league play also led to midfielder Harry Arter making his first competitive appearance for Ireland as they defeated Austria in a qualifier Saturday. It was nice to get away to a bit of a different environment for a while. It took my mind off the disappointing results weve had in the last few games, he told Bournemouths official website. To get the win with Ireland gives you that extra boost of confidence. Im looking forward to the weekend and hopefully we can get back on track at Stoke. The Cherries are 6-6-12 on the road since earning promotion for last season but winless in their last seven (0-2-5) outside Vitality Stadium since beating hapless Aston Villa 2-1 on April 9.The Potters did the double over Bournemouth last season, including a 2-1 victory in the corresponding fixture as Mame Dioufs goal seven minutes from time proved to be the match-winner. Stoke also ran out 3-1 winners in the most recent fixture in February, getting goals from Giannelli Imbula, Ibrahim Afellay and Joselu before Matthew Ritchie pulled one back for the Cherries. Chhew Ritchie pulled one back for the Cherries.
