An injury to Gary Sanchez turned the trip into an even bigger loss.

Bauers led off the 12th inning with a home run and Tampa Bay completed a three-game sweep of the Yankees with a 7-6 victory Sunday.

”It’s a crazy feeling http://www.losangelesramsteamonline.com/bobby-evans-jersey ,” Bauers said.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sanchez hurt his right groin/hip abductor trying to beat out a double-play grounder in the 10th and ”it’s probably going to be a DL situation.”

”What can I say?” Sanchez said through a translator. ”That’s the way baseball is sometimes. Now I’m just hoping it’s not a long time.”

Sanchez will undergo an MRI exam Monday.

Giancarlo Stanton doubled twice and homered while going 5 for 5 for New York. The Yankees had been the only team in the majors that hadn’t lost three in a row this year – this was the latest into any season they had gone without losing three straight since August 1954.

”Just a frustration weekend, but you just turn the page from it,” Boone said.

Bauers, who tripled earlier, homered on the first pitch from Chasen Shreve (2-2). Five previous New York relievers held Tampa Bay hitless for eight innings.

Brett Gardner opened the 12th with a bunt single that saw Rays reliever Jonny Venters strain his right hamstring and depart the game.

Venters hadn’t pitched in the majors since the 2012 NL wild-card game with Atlanta until joining Tampa Bay this season. The lefty had three Tommy John surgeries (2005, 2013, 2014) and another other major procedure in 2016.

Venters will be going on the disabled list

”Hopefully, it’s a mild strain,” Venters said. ”It’s disappointing, but injuries are part of the game.”

Ryan Yarbrough (7-3) replaced Venters and worked out of a first-and-third jam by getting a two-out grounder from Austin Romine Greg Gaines Jersey , who replaced Sanchez.

Stanton hit a solo homer in the eighth off Vidal Nuno that made it 6-all. He reached on an infield single in the 10th before Sanchez hurt himself.

Nuno allowed one run over four innings.

Yankees pinch hitter Clint Frazier lofted a towering fly in the ninth that struck a speaker hanging from an overhead catwalk and shortstop Adeiny Hechavarria, as allowed by the ground rules at Tropicana Field, caught the carom for an out in shallow left.

Hechavarria missed time earlier this season with bruise near his eye when a ball took a strange bounce on the turf after striking a catwalk.

”As the play was happening, once it hit up there, I thought about that last play,” Hechavarria said through a translator. ”That’s not going to happen again.”

Tampa Bay tied it in the second on Hechavarria’s solo homer, and went up 6-3 when Carlos Gomez had an RBI single and Jesus Sucre drove in two with a double off Domingo German during the third.

”It always nice to beat the Yankees,” Hechavarria said. ”And it’s good that they’re leaving here a little frustrated about getting swept by us.”

It’s the second time – also the Chicago Cubs in June 2008 – that Tampa Bay has a swept a series of three or more games against a team that entered a series with the best record in the majors.

Didi Gregorius and Stanton had consecutive run-scoring doubles in the fifth to make it 6-5. Miguel Andujar put the Yankees ahead 3-2 with a three-run homer in the second.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Yankees: RHP Masahiro Tanaka, on the 10-day disabled list since June 9 with strained left and right hamstrings, threw 26 pitches in his first bullpen session. He will get on the mound again Tuesday.

Rays: Gomez started after missing Saturday’s game with a sore left wrist. He was hit by a pitch from CC Sabathia on Friday.

FIRST START

Yankees RHP Luis Cessa (0-0) will make his first start this season Wednesday night at Philadelphia. The move allows Sabathia to get a couple extra days of rest and start the opener Friday night of a three-game series with Boston at Yankee Stadium.

UP NEXT

Yankees: RHP Jonathan Loaisiga (1-0) makes his third major league start Monday night against Philadelphia RHP Vince Velasquez (5-7).

Rays: LHP Blake Snell (9-4) Christian Wilkins Jersey , with an extra day of rest, faces Washington LHP Gio Gonzalez (6-4) on Monday night.

The one thing we know to be true about the NFL, the one the prevailing axiom that we’re constantly reminded of, is that on any given Sunday, anything can happen. And it does. And that’s why the league is so unpredictable, sometimes frustratingly so, yet so entertaining and full of hope. It’s one of the few everlasting truths in a league that prides itself on parity and quick turnarounds, and every season it’s evident, including this one. It leads to an offseason of ‘what ifs’ and ‘what the’s’, as every once in a while the best will fail to show up http://www.miamidolphinsteamonline.com/michael-deiter-jersey , the worst will step up, and the incomprehensible will happen. Now, when reflecting on some of the stranger outcomes from the season, often upsets make sense. Rarely do we get a winless team, and virtually never do we get an undefeated one. We're also not talking about underdogs beating division rivals, because teams that play each other twice a season, year in and year out, tend to play each other closely. We are also not addressing Thursday Night games, which continue to confound analysts and fans because they’re not necessarily blow outs or sloppy, but they are just hardly representative; it’s asking a lot for teams to play hard five days later.Instead Garrett Bradbury Jersey , we are looking at games that boggle the mind, that when played ten times, the favourite should win at least nine. Games where the loser will look back with regret, knowing a loss altered a season for the worst and that they were much better and simply gave one away. Games where it still doesn’t make sense how one team prevailed and even though they did, you still feel good betting against them. Here they are: the ten most inexplicable games from the 2014 season – with one key divisional match.
If there is one thing that NFL teams don't need to deal with Ryquell Armstead Jersey , it's off the field issues. suspended and can't play it becomes impossible. The worst part about off field issues is that they are completely avoidable. One of the top reasons players are getting suspended by the NFL is the use of substances deemed illegal by the league.Nothing makes me madder than when a player with all of the gifts in the world ruin their career with something that they could have steered clear of. Blowing your opportunity to be an NFL player, an opportunity that very few people come by, is like throwing money into a fire. It is so easy not to screw up. Just don't break the law or break the rules of the NFL and you have it made... But it's a bit harder than that for football players for some reason. It seemed to me that this was happening all too often so I compiled a list of players who ruined their careers with drugs. If they could've stayed off of the league's banned substances, they could have had great careers.Without further adieu, here is our list of players who ruined their career with substances. Enjoy!

SAN FRANCISCO — Two teams that looked a bit more like they hoped to look all season Thursday night will go head-to-head for the second straight game when the San Diego Padres take on the San Francisco Giants on Friday.

On the same night when the Padres were able to put Wil Myers and Eric Hosmer in the lineup together for just the ninth time this season, the Giants had their 1-2 pitching combination of Madison Bumgarner and Mark Melancon going strong in a 3-0 victory in the opener of a four-game series.

The Giants’ third straight victory was more than just a streak-extender, catcher Buster Posey insisted afterward.

“Bum is such a presence Gardner Minshew II Jersey ,” he said of the left-handed ace. “Even when he’s not pitching that night, he’s lurking. The other team knows he’s there. It’s a nice advantage for us to have.”

Bumgarner recorded his first win of the season Thursday in the same game in which Melancon notched his first save of the year.

The duo, who were viewed as a potential high-powered tag-team act when Melancon was signed as a free agent before the start of the 2017 season, worked the win/save thing for the first time as teammates.

Melancon was pressed into ninth-inning duties because of the broken finger sustained by closer Hunter Strickland earlier in the week.

If all goes well, the Giants might be afforded the luxury of moving Strickland back to a set-up role when he returns in August, presuming Melancon can continue to display the stuff that overpowered the top of the San Diego order on just 13 pitches to complete Thursday’s shutout.

Among the guys Melancon set down were Myers, who grounded out, and Hosmer Christian Wilkins Jersey , who struck out.

They combined to go 0-for-7 in their new setting — atop the San Diego order.

Myers, who suffered arm and oblique injuries in spring training and the first month of the season, was playing Thursday for the first time since April 28.

“They’re our guys,” Padres manager Andy Green assured. “Every single team has a couple guys you look to rely on offensively to anchor you. They’re our guys. They are the two guys that we expect to anchor us, and when you’re missing part of that anchor it can be tough.”

The anchor looked a bit rusty against Bumgarner, who worked eight three-hit innings, but they will get a shot at Giants right-hander Chris Stratton (8-4, 4.22 ERA) in the second game of the series.

With Myers out of the lineup Michael Deiter Jersey , Stratton threw seven shutout innings, allowing just one hit, in a 7-0 win over the Padres in April. It improved his career numbers to 2-1 with a 3.21 ERA against them in three games, including two starts.

Stratton enters the game on a nice roll, having lost just once in his last seven starts dating back to May 9.

He will be opposed by Padres left-hander Clayton Richard (6-6, 4.31), who has won three in a row, allowing just six earned runs in 20 innings.

But the 34-year-old has struggled in his career against the Giants Garrett Bradbury Jersey , going 6-8 with a 4.58 ERA in 22 games, including 19 starts.

He has pitched 13 times (10 starts) in San Francisco, going 4-4 with a 5.75 ERA.

Among those who have teed off on Richard are Posey, who has gone 12-for-32 (.375) with two home runs, and Andrew McCutchen, who also has homered twice in just 12 at-bats.

NEW YORK — Last season http://www.detroitlionsteamonline.com/jahlani-tavai-jersey , credited things such as getting tips from Hall of Famer Pedro Martinez as a reason why everything came together after a difficult experience in 2016.

This year, Seattle Mariners left-hander James Paxton is joining Severino among the elite pitchers in the American League, and he credits improved conditioning to go along with an aggressive mindset in attacking hitters.

Paxton and Severino will oppose each other Thursday afternoon at Yankee Stadium when the Mariners and Yankees conclude their three-game series.

The Yankees are in position to get the sweep after rallying from five runs down and recording a 7-5 win on Wednesday on Giancarlo Stanton’s two-run homer in the ninth inning off Ryan Cook. The Yankees are 16-4 in their last 20 games and are going for their first home sweep of Seattle since May 23-25, 2008.

Seattle is on its second three-game losing streak after blowing its first five-run lead this season. Despite their worst collapse of the season, the Mariners are 13-6 in their last 19 games and 32-17 in their last 49 games.

Paxton heads into his first career start against the Yankees with a 6-1 record and a 3.44 ERA. After going 18-15 in his first 50 starts since making his debut in 2013, Paxton is 18-7 in his last 39, a stretch that includes a 99-pitch no-hitter last month in Toronto and six of his eight career double-digit strikeout games.

Last season, Paxton was 12-5 with a 2.98 ERA but only made 24 starts due to two stints on the disabled list with a strained left forearm and a strained left pectoral muscle. After five DL stints within the first five years of his career, Paxton refined his conditioning with a program to keep everything working. He described the program in detail while referring to the muscle activation technique.

“You need everything to be firing together at the right time and have all your muscles working together in order for them to be optimal strength and stamina,” Paxton said. “So, that’s what I did this offseason and I continue to work with those guys during the season to allow myself to stay healthy.”

Paxton enters his 90th career start with 115 strikeouts this year, 39 away from his total last season and sixth in the American League.

Paxton said the strikeouts are coming more often because of aggressiveness — resulting in numbers such as a .216 opposing batting average with runners on base, a .194 average with runners in scoring position and a .178 mark when getting ahead of a hitter 0-1.

“I think I’ve gotten more aggressive in the zone and stuff,” he said. I’m not picking around the corners as much. I tried to be a little too perfect I think in the past http://www.houstontexansteamonline.com/kahale-warring-jersey , got myself in bad counts, allowing guys to cheat on fastballs. I think when I get ahead of guys, it gives me more options, makes them think about more pitches I can throw and gets them off my stuff a little bit.”

Since the no-hitter on May 8 in Toronto, Paxton is 4-0 with a 3.48 ERA in his last seven starts, a number inflated due to his last start.

Paxton is coming off his shortest start of the season when he allowed five earned runs on six hits in 2 1/3 innings Friday against the Boston Red Sox in an eventual 7-6 win.

“He’s matured a ton,” Seattle manager Scott Servais said. “He knows how important he is for our team and how important it is for him to stay healthy.

“He’s changed a lot of his offseason workouts, his work in between starts, understanding to be able to take the ball every fifth day means so much to our team. He’s really put a priority on that, probably more so than actual pitch sequencing or pitch development.”

As for Severino, he can join Cleveland’s Corey Kluber as the second 11-game winner in the majors with a victory Thursday.

He is 10-2 with a 2.09 ERA after allowing three hits in eight scoreless innings in Saturday’s 4-1 win over the Tampa Bay Rays. It was the fourth time he pitched into the eighth inning and fourth scoreless start.

“Obviously anytime he goes, I feel great about it,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said. “He’s a great pitcher. He’s clearly establishing himself as one of the best in the game.”

Severino was 14-6 with a 2.98 ERA last season after Martinez suggested some mechanical tweaks and encouraged him to include his changeup more frequently. Martinez’s advice took place after Severino finished 3-8 with a 5.83 ERA in 22 appearances in a 2016 campaign that featured a triceps injury and a demotion to the minors.

It has resulted in Severino being able to maintain velocity throughout games, such as Saturday when 23 of his 102 pitches were clocked at 99 mph or higher.

“I’ve played with him all the way through the minor leagues http://www.indianapoliscoltsteamonline.com/bobby-okereke-jersey ,” Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge said. “This is what I expect out of Sevy. Go out there and just dominate.”

The right-hander is 1-0 with a 2.84 ERA in two career starts against Seattle. He pitched seven scoreless innings in a 4-1 win at Seattle on July 20, 2017, and allowed four runs in 5 2/3 innings in a 7-1 home loss on April 15, 2016.

New York left fielder Brett Gardner missed his third straight game Wednesday with a swollen right knee and is day-to-day. If Gardner does not play, Aaron Hicks will likely bat leadoff.

The final one-fourth of the 2014 National Football League regular season is about to kick off, and plenty about the current state of the league remains unknown. Only four teams in the AFC are technically out of the playoff race heading into Week 14. The AFC North has four teams above .500, and any of those sides could end up winning the division. Meanwhile, the NFC South doesn't have a single team with a winning record. Odds are that a NFC South team with a 7-9 record will end up hosting a Wild Card Weekend game in January 2015, possibly versus a 10-6 side.Fans and analysts alike have, since the start of the first training camps on the league calendar, had about half of a year to evaluate rookies that were acquired by teams during the May 2014 NFL Draft. Somewhat surprising is that not a single first-year quarterback, not even a certain phenom who came out of Texas A&M, has yet proven himself to be a legitimate franchise QB. The wide receiver class, however http://www.jacksonvillejaguarsteamonline.com/jawaan-taylor-jersey , could be the best that has come out of any NFL draft in history. One player, in particular, looks to be a superstar in the making, the next great wide receiver to rival the likes of Calvin Johnson and Josh Gordon. There was one big question swirling around the NFL heading into the night of May 8 and the first night of the NFL Draft: Was there any way that the Houston Texans could possibly pass on prospect-for-the-ages defensive end Jadeveon Clowney? The Texans could not, as it turned out, and the pick hasn't worked out for the club...yet. It is early days into his pro career, of course, and Clowney still has freakish physical qualities that make him a player who could, if he can remain healthy and if he decides to put in the necessary work, be a game-changer. That said, the Texans would likely go another route were the draft to be held today.
Nowadays Connor McGovern Jersey , perhaps more so than ever before, if you want to win a Super Bowl, you must have a very good secondary.and without good corners and safeties, your defense will not stand a chance Foster Moreau Jersey , especially in the games that matter or the games against top quarterbacks.Just look at the Pittsburgh Steelers as an example. Everyone thought they had turned their defense around during the 2016 season, as their secondary stringed together a few good games. However, when it was time to play a good team in the playoffs, their secondary was shredded apart. Electing to not press the New England receivers Greedy Williams Jersey , Tom Brady stood back in the pocket and picked the Steelers apart en route to another AFC Championship. The Steelers will not be able to win a Super Bowl without improvement in this area, and no other team will win with a weak secondary. Of course, a secondary can improve from a good pass rush, but when you are playing quick passing offenses http://www.thebrownsfootballauthentic.com/sione-takitaki-jersey-authentic , I am not sure how much a good pass rush really helps.Overall, the goal of this article is to rank the eight best and seven worst secondaries for the upcoming 2017 season.

Pink is heading to the Super Bowl to sing the national anthem.

The NFL announced Monday that the pop star will perform ”The Star-Spangled Banner” before the game on Feb. 4 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

Justin Timberlake is set to headline the halftime show. The Super Bowl will air live on NBC.

Pink released her seventh studio album, ”Beautiful Trauma,” in October. Its lead single Sheldrick Redwine Jersey , ”What About Us,” is nominated for a Grammy this month.

The Grammy- and Emmy-winning singer’s hits include ”So What,” ”Get the Party Started” and ”Just Give Me a Reason.”

Draft most of them are seeing a lot of these players for the first time. But for an NFL franchise Dawson Knox Jersey , the process of selecting a draft pick, especially a first round one, starts seven months, or more, before the draft Brian Burns Jersey , when scouts and front office personnel begin looking at the college ranks to find that diamond in the rough. The process can be grueling and painstakingly detailed but in the end, each team has a war room and inside that war room lies the key to the entire process, the draft board. The draft board is built after all of the scouting, interviews, research Greg Little Jersey , and debating over who should be ranked where. It is the bible to many teams and that board is their own. It is how they make their picks when they are on the clock. The moment a team decides to make their picks without consulting that board is when mistakes happen and this is something that can occur more often than you would think because of all the chaos inside the war room. Coaches, owners, and scouts sit around coming up with arguments about who to take and when but when the clock goes live, they have 15 minutes. It sounds like enough time to make a selection but it is just not that simple. The 15 minutes flies by when all of the war room is talking and debating about who to take. Trades are a key factor in this chaos because other teams might move ahead of yours to take a player you always wanted. This leaves teams with a frantic 15 minutes to come up with a new plan. Some of them work out, others do not. So let’s take a look at the worst draft picks from every year since 1999. Training camp is but a few weeks away so we will soon be introduced to tons of pictures and videos of grunting Will Grier Jersey , sweating, heaving, angry, and overall ugly as sin NFL players as they make their way through what can be a very grueling part of the overall season for many players. This can be unpleasant for the players but also for the fans as we struggle to glean any and all information we can about the state of our teams viewed through the prism of giant dudes looking really messed up and disfigured. While there are some very structurally pleasing males that play America’s Game (I’ll always have a serious bromance for you, Jason Taylor) Christian Miller Jersey , there are also some really, really ugly dudes that are just completely broken in the face. These guys are often scary, menacing, confusing to look at or just overall dopey as heck. It’s almost as if some of their faces have been altered in molten lava or genetically mutated via a radioactive disaster that rendered them into unstable beasts incapable of normal human expressions. It’s frightening. We’ll attempt to go through some of the NFL’s more ‘facially challenged’ players in the following list. Some of you may find this offensive or unnecessary or just plain mean but I urge you to look through the list, take notes and stay vigilant. These heinous creatures are amongst us and we can never be sure of their desires pertaining to the eating of our children or elderly. There is still time to stop them. The power is in our hands; do not shirk from this global responsibility.

Brent Urban to a 1-year contract Will Grier Jersey , less than two weeks before he was slated to become an unrestricted free agent.

Urban’s four years with Baltimore have been marked by injuries. He’s played in just 25 games, and was healthy for an entire season only in 2016.

After being selected out of Virginia in the fourth round of the 2014 draft, Urban spent his rookie season on injured reserve after hurting his knee in training camp.

Urban played in only six games in 2015 because of a biceps injury. After appearing in 16 games in 2016, he made his first three NFL starts in 2017 before a foot injury ended his season in September.

Urban has 25 tackles, three sacks and has blocked two field goals over his career.

After the Ravens signed him Tuesday http://www.panthersfootballauthentic.com/christian-miller-jersey-authentic , Urban wrote on Twitter: ”Beyond thankful to be given the opportunity to do what I love with the organization that gave me my start.”

Believe it or not, the Houston Texans have actually been decent when it comes to the first round of the NFL Draft.Well, decent may be a bit too kind because the amount of boom picks (Andre Johnson, Duane Brown, J.J. Watt Jordan Scarlett Jersey , et all) slightly outweigh the bust picks (David Carr, Travis Johnson, Amobi Okoye, et all), but Houston's had some great picks over the past 15 years and will look to replicate that success in 2017.What if the Texans could go back and fix some of their previous mistakes? Instead of taking David Carr first overall in the 2002 NFL Draft David Montgomery Jersey , would they take Julius Peppers or Ed Reed? How about the 2009 NFL Draft, which landed them linebacker Brian Cushing - a fine player, but someone who went before players that gave their own teams much more of an impact. As with all of our re-drafts, we go by the following rules:- These picks are made in a chronological order and have an effect on each other, meaning that the Texans selecting a quarterback in the 2004 NFL Draft may have an impact on where they look in the 2005 NFL Draft. All the pieces matter http://www.bearsfootballauthentics.com/riley-ridley-jersey-authentic , as one Lester Freamon would say.- Players who are already off the board at the time a pick takes place are exempt, meaning that the 2009 Houston Texans, who drafted 15th overall, can't somehow come away with Matthew Stafford as the former Georgia quarterback is already off the board.- Where the team picked in real life remains the same, though that's for ease and realism. You can pretend how the team finished the year before to end up with that pick (maybe they acquired it in a trade in the previous draft!).Ready to change history? Let's do this.

Watching from the visitor’s dugout Zach Gentry Jersey , Justin Turner saw his teammates spray runs and figured the Los Angeles Dodgers wouldn’t need any from him.

His power proved to be the difference.

Turner hit the Dodgers’ seventh home run of the game, a go-ahead drive in the 11th inning that led Los Angeles over the New York Mets 8-7 Sunday.

”I was hoping we didn’t need one,” said Turner, who went 1 for 9 in the first two games of the series before getting the day off. ”But it kind of worked out.”

Cody Bellinger and Kike Hernandez each homered twice as the Dodgers beat the Mets for the 12th straight time dating to 2016. Max Muncy and Joc Pederson also connected for Los Angeles. Hernandez and Muncy led off the game with back-to-back shots.

The Dodgers’ team record for home runs in a game is eight, set in 2002 against Milwaukee.

The defending NL champs have gone 25-9 since falling behind 10 games under .500 on May 16, and have won three straight after losing the last two games of a three-game series last week at Wrigley Field against Chicago.

The Dodgers are now 2 1/2 games behind NL West-leading Arizona.

”We had a lot of injuries, a lot of bad luck and nothing was going our way,” Hernandez said. ”Slowly things started to turn around. It was just a matter of time because if you look at our team, even now that we’re doing really good Joey Bosa Jersey , there’s no reason why we shouldn’t have the record we have now.”

The Mets matched a team record for the most homers allowed in a game, and lost their sixth in a row overall.

Turner, a former Met, homered off Chris Flexen (0-1) with two outs to put the Dodgers up for good. Los Angeles had squandered a 7-4 lead in the eighth when Kevin Plawecki hit a tying, three-run shot.

Daniel Hudson (2-2) picked up the victory with two scoreless innings. He worked around a leadoff walk in the 10th and stranded a runner at second in the 11th.

The Mets lost for the 13th time in 14 games at Citi Field. They previously allowed seven home runs on April 30, 2017, at Washington.

”We just can’t sync up exactly what we’re trying to do every day,” Mets manager Mickey Callaway said. ”If we swing the bats, we give up seven homers. If we pitch and swing the bats good Dwayne Haskins Jersey , our defense isn’t quite there.”

The depleted Mets were forced to start longtime reliever Jerry Blevins in place of Jason Vargas, who was placed on the 10-day disabled list Saturday due to a strained right calf.

”I showed up to the ballpark today and they were like, `Hey, how do you feel about starting?”’ Blevins said.

Making his first major league start in 533 appearances, Blevins gave up back-to-back homers by Hernandez and Muncy to begin the game. It was just the second time since 1900 that a pitcher had allowed two straight home runs to begin his first start in the majors, the Elias Sports Bureau said – Don Hendrickson did it in 1945 with the Boston Braves.

TRAINER’S ROOM

Dodgers: RHP Walker Buehler (right rib microfracture) threw in the bullpen before the game. The 23-year-old rookie, who is 4-1 with a 2.63 ERA in nine starts this season, has been on the disabled list since June 12.

Mets: Flexen was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas, taking Vargas’ spot in the 25-man roster. … OF Brandon Nimmo was removed from the game due to a sore right pinkie. He injured it when he was hit by a pitch in the fifth inning and was replaced by Conforto in the top of the seventh. X-rays were negative but he will undergo an MRI on Monday. ”I’m optimistic because it’s not what I think that a broken bone would feel like Ed Oliver Jersey ,” Nimmo said.

SITTING IT OUT

Mets SS Amed Rosario was held out of the starting lineup as part of a mental break over the next couple of days. His mentor, Jose Reyes, started in his place, Rosario entered to play short in the top of the 11th. The struggling 22-year-old, who’s hitting just .249 with four home runs and 21 RBIs over 71 games, has had a tough time adjusting to major league pitching after hitting .328 with seven homers and 58 RBI at Triple-A Las Vegas before making his big league debut last season on Aug. 1, 2017.

”I’m just having a couple of days for me to relax and enjoy the game,” said Rosario, who has hit only .212 (14 for 66) through 19 games in June.

Callaway and his staff sat down with the youngster to come up with a plan heading into their three-game series with Pittsburgh on Monday.

”We brought him in and talked to him http://www.billscheapshop.com/cheap-authentic-cody-ford-jersey , sat him down and we’re going to make sure that we take these next couple of days to work on some things in his overall game,” Callaway said. ”This young kid is still trying to develop at the major league level and these couple of days will allow him to get some work done in the cage, some work done in the field tomorrow taking groundballs and things like that. So we thought this would be really good for him.”

UP NEXT

Dodgers: RHP Kenta Maeda (4-4, 3.11 ERA) starts the opener of a 10-game homestand with the first of four against the Chicago Cubs.

Mets: RHP Seth Lugo (2-2, 2.85) starts the first game of a three-game set against Pittsburgh. It will be Lugo’s fifth start of the season.

The general philosophy of an NFL offense has changed course several times over the years. Teams used to run two-man backfield sets almost exclusively, and that has given way to a more pass-heavy game, which features much more receivers on the field in stock formations. Our point is that the NFL is a juggernaut for high-flying offenses right now, and the 2017 season may end up being the most entertaining season yet, in that regard. There are some truly marquee offenses in the league right now Devin Singletary Jersey , and then there are some that are absolutely abysmal. That's usually the case with every NFL season, except for the fact that we could see some middling offenses break out into top-tier ones this season, and really hit their stride. With such a mix of veteran and young quarterbacks playing alongside dynamic skill players, it's an exciting time to be watching the league, and seeing which teams are able to take the next step, and start putting points on the board with the very best the game has to offer.Let's take a look at which teams are going to thrive on the offensive side of the ball this year, and which ones will crash and burn.Ranked below is every NFL team's offense heading into the 2017 season, from worst to best.
In a span of a few short years http://www.packerscheapshoponline.com/cheap-authentic-darnell-savage-jr.-jersey , a player can ascend the highest high, soon to be found barely hanging on for their professional life a short while after. In a sport where 250 pound human beings barrel into each other at sprinter's speed, one can only assume the glory won't last long. The average career span for an NFL player is 3.5 years. This is the shortest of all major sports. Adversely, the longest career span is enjoyed by the boys in the MLB. It makes sense. One activity features a collection of gentleman participating in organized bat and ball while the other showcases whistle controlled war.In any case, the guys on this list, at one time or another, have experienced some to massive success in their NFL careers. And for whatever reason, mostly age and injury, they find their careers nearing the end. Some on this list might regain that former glory, while others will certainly meet their NFL demise. Let's speculate shall we. Atlantic City and southern New Jersey have always been Philadelphia Eagles country.

And with the local team in the Super Bowl, the seaside gambling resort can only dream of the extra millions of dollars it might have taken in had it been able to offer sports betting.

The U.S. Supreme Court will decide New Jersey’s challenge to a law banning sports betting in all but four states later this year.

But the decision won’t come in time to make up for the business Atlantic City thinks it would have gotten from die-hard Eagles fans http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/authentic-justice-hill-jersey , as well as casual fans, looking to bet on the Eagles-Patriots championship game on Feb. 4 in Minneapolis.

Tropicana president (and lifelong Eagles fan) Tony Rodio said sports betting would generate a lot of new business for Atlantic City.

”The northeast corridor is a giant sports betting market,” he said. ”If you take the Eagles and put them into the mix, I just can’t even imagine how big that would be. It would take it to a whole new level.”

Alas, that is not to be, at least this season. The Supreme Court ruling might not come until June. Legal analysts predict New Jersey has a decent chance of winning the case with a ruling that would permit sports betting in the state or across the nation.

Sports betting would be offered at Atlantic City’s casinos and the state’s horse racing tracks.

City Councilman Marty Small, an Eagles season-ticket holder who organizes an annual flight to see an Eagles road game, said Eagles fans would have booked every available hotel room in the city weeks ago in anticipation of watching – and betting on – their team in Atlantic City.

”We would have been totally sold out by now, the whole city,” he said. ”Super Bowl Sunday is the biggest party day of the year, and people would have come from near and far to claim Atlantic City as their party place. We’re missing a golden opportunity this year.”

This year Ben Powers Jersey , casinos in Las Vegas expect betting on the Super Bowl to surpass last year’s record of $138.5 million.

Drew Leonard, lifelong Eagles fan from Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, who grew up in southern New Jersey and used to visit Atlantic City twice a month, said he would go to the resort to bet a few hundred dollars on the Eagles, if it were legal.

”Anything that would bring in more people and business would definitely help,” he said, predicting Philadelphia will beat New England by a touchdown.

Of course, if sports betting were legal, a sizeable number of people would be expected to come to Atlantic City to place bets regardless of which two teams were playing in it.

Kevin Ortzman, regional president of Caesars Entertainment http://www.ravensauthorizedshops.com/authentic-iman-marshall-jersey , which owns three of Atlantic City’s seven casinos, said the northeastern U.S. ”is probably the biggest driver of sports betting,” noting that there are hard-core sports fans who would come to Atlantic City to bet on football, even if it involved the Cleveland Browns.

But the presence of the local market-favorite Eagles would have added some ”extreme excitement and vibe” to the game, he said.

Even without sports betting, Atlantic City casinos are trying to cash in on Eagles mania. The Caesars Entertainment casinos (Harrah’s Bally’s and Caesars) are considering bringing in retired Eagles players to meet and greet customers.

The Tropicana is using green lights to illuminate two indoor fountains, and all last weekend, it sprinkled the recorded sound of an eagle screech from time to time into the overhead music playing in the casino.

NCAA after the governing body nullified the Cardinals of the 2013 men’s basketball title.

Pitino http://www.falconscheapshops.com/cheap-authentic-john-cominsky-jersey , speaking from his attorney’s offices, said that the NCAA’s decision to have Louisville vacate the title as part of sanctions for a sex scandal was unfair.

The sex scandal occurred during Pitino’s coaching tenure, though the Hall of Fame coach once again reiterated that he didn’t know about the sex shows. Pitino did take responsibility for the people he hired as assistant coaches – including Andre McGee. It was McGee who an escort said hired her and other dancers for sex parties on campus with players and recruits that led to the NCAA investigation.

As for taking legal action himself, Pitino said he was defenseless in this situation, but he is suing Louisville for his dismissal. He was not fired after the sex scandal, but Louisville let him go in October after the school acknowledged the university was being investigated as part of a federal college corruption case.

That case is unrelated to the NCAA’s investigation of the sex scandal.

NBA

DALLAS (AP) – The NBA fined outspoken Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban $600,000 on Wednesday for comments about tanking during a podcast with Hall of Famer Julius Erving.

Commissioner Adam Silver said the fine was for ”public statements detrimental to the NBA.” The league said the podcast with Erving was posted Sunday, the day the All-Star game was played in Los Angeles.

Cuban said during the 30-minute interview that he met recently with some of his players and told them ”losing is our best option.” Cuban was trying to illustrate to Erving how he believes he is a transparent owner.

After trading veteran guard Devin Harris to Denver at the deadline this season, Dallas (18-40) is tied for the fewest wins in the NBA and among seven teams with 18 or 19 victories at the All-Star break.

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Dirk Nowitzki said he was ”disgusted” to read about allegations of inappropriate sexual conduct by former team president Terdema Ussery in a Sports Illustrated report that described a hostile workplace for women.

The 20-year player who has spent his entire career with the Mavericks told reporters after the first post-All-Star break practice in Los Angeles that he was glad the franchise was addressing the situation by hiring outside counsel to investigate the allegations.

Ussery was accused of making sexually suggestive remarks to several women. He spent 18 years with the team before going to the sports apparel company Under Armour in 2015. Ussery, who was investigated by the team over similar claims in 1998, denied the allegations in a statement to SI.

The 6-foot-5 Kuemper will join No. 1 goalie Antti Raanta as the netminding pair for the Coyotes.

Kuemper and the Coyotes were finalizing a contract extension Wednesday night. He said he is excited to be part of the growth of an Arizona franchise with a lot of young players.

The 25-year-old Rieder, from Germany, had eight goals and 11 assists in 58 games for Arizona this season. He has 51 goals and 60 assists in 292 career games Qadree Ollison Jersey , all with the Coyotes.

Wedgewood was 5-9-4 with a 3.45 GAA in 20 games this season for Arizona. The 25-year-old goalie appeared in four games for New Jersey in 2015-16.

NFL

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) – Marty Hurney will be calling the shots once again with the Carolina Panthers.

Carolina re-hired Hurney as its general manager, marking his second full-time stint as general manager. Hurney previously worked for the Panthers from 1998-2012, beginning as GM in 2002. He rejoined the Panthers last July as on an interim basis.

Panthers COO Tina Becker said Hurney did an ”exceptional” job in helping the Panthers to an 11-5 season last year.

The Panthers reinstated Hurney as interim general manager last week after an NFL investigation found no wrongdoing into charges of harassment by his ex-wife. Hurney had been on a paid leave of absence during the investigation and had disputed all accusations through his attorney.

TAMPA, Fla. (AP) – The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have hired former NFL player Brentson Buckner as defensive line coach.

Buckner spent the past five seasons as defensive line coach for the Arizona Cardinals. They had 203 sacks during his tenure – tied for the seventh-most in the NFL.

The Bucs were last in the league with 22 sacks in 2017.

Buckner was a second-round draft pick of the Pittsburgh Steelers in 1994. He also played for the Cincinnati Bengals, San Francisco 49ers and Carolina Panthers during a 12-year career.

The Bucs also announced Max Fried was so good that he didn’t even need all the support Nick Markakis and the Braves provided for his first win of the season.

Markakis hit a grand slam, Fried took a shutout into the seventh inning and Atlanta beat the St. Louis Cardinals 11-4 on Saturday night.

”You’ve got to give all the credit to Max,” Markakis said. ”He went out and pitched one of the better games I’ve seen. For him, two runs early on was enough for him. It was nice to get some runs and give him a nice cushion there.”

The Braves have won the first two games of the three-game set. The Cardinals have dropped three in a row.

Fried (1-2) stymied the Cardinals on 101 pitches before being pulled with two outs in the seventh. Recalled from Triple-A Gwinnett to start the game, he struck out 11, allowed four singles and walked three.

”My curveball was definitely on tonight,” said Fried, who also recorded his first major league hit with a single in the fifth. ”I was able to throw it for strikes, put it in the dirt when I wanted to. The big thing for me was getting the fastball over. I felt like I was able to get strike one pretty good. That was my main goal.”

Luke Weaver (4-7) went 4 2/3 innings, giving up 10 runs on eight hits Rashan Gary Jersey , walking two and striking out five. He gave up homers to Markakis in his final inning and a two-run shot to Ronald Acuna Jr. in the second.

”At the end of the day, I was just done on a couple big swings,” Weaver said. ”I thought I threw some pitches in good spots, but it’s got to be executed a little bit better and you’ve just got to flush these types of days.”

The Braves sent 11 players to the plate in the six-run fifth. After Ozzie Albies doubled in Fried, the Cardinals intentionally walked Freddie Freeman to face Markakis. The right fielder hit his ninth homer of the season and fourth career grand slam off a 3-2 pitch.

”To be honest with you, I was just looking to hit something into the outfield and get a run in, and I ended up one of the better at-bats in the season,” Markakis said. ”I looked back at the video and (the pitch) wasn’t exactly where he wanted it, but he threw it somewhere close to the zone and I put a good swing on it.”

He added a sacrifice fly in the sixth to bring in Albies, finishing with five RBI on the day.

Albies went 3 for 5 and has a 10-game hit streak, batting .467 (21 for 47) during that span.

The Cardinals scored all of their runs in the ninth off Matt Wisler, including a leadoff home run from Jose Martinez.

LONGEVITY

Cardinals C Yadier Molina played in his 1,800th game, joining Hall of Famers Stan Musial, Lou Brock Hakeem Butler Jersey , Ozzie Smith and Enos Slaughter as Cardinals to play in at least that many. MOVES

To make room for Fried, the Braves designated OF Peter Bourjos for assignment. Bourjos, in his first year with the Braves, was batting .205 in 36 games. He also played for St. Louis in 2014 and 2015.

NFL to investigate whether the Oakland Raiders violated the ”Rooney Rule” when they hired Jon Gruden as coach.

Fritz Pollard Alliance counsel Cyrus Mehri and N. Jeremi Duru said they were concerned that Raiders owner Mark Davis came to an agreement with Gruden before the team interviewed any minority candidates as required by the NFL since 2003.

”As soon as we learned of the reports Drew Lock Jersey , we formally requested that the NFL thoroughly investigate the matter to conclusively determine whether the Rooney Rule was violated – and if it was violated, to impose an appropriate punishment,” they said.

The Fritz Pollard Alliance is dedicated to promoting diversity and equality of job opportunity in the coaching, front office and scouting staffs of NFL teams.

Davis said Tuesday at the news conference introducing Gruden as the team’s new coach that he had been trying to make the move for six years and finally believed it would happen after a meeting in Philadelphia on Christmas Eve, the day before Gruden worked a game between the Raiders and Eagles on ESPN.

”I felt pretty confident that he was all-in,” Davis said. ”And that’s the term that we were using in our discussions and everything, are you all-in? And I never wavered from all-in. And this time he didn’t waver http://www.broncoscheapauthenticstore.com/dre_mont-jones-jersey-cheap , either.”

Davis fired Jack Del Rio a week later and the team officially hired Gruden on Jan. 6. Davis also said he wouldn’t have fired Del Rio if he didn’t believe Gruden would sign on as coach.

”I believe that I would’ve sat down with Jack and we would’ve figured out coordinators and assistant coaches and things like that and try to figure out how to re-invigorate the franchise through Jack,” he said.

Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie said Tuesday he interviewed two minority candidates before Gruden’s hiring was announced. Those candidates were Oakland tight ends coach Bobby Johnson and Southern California offensive coordinator Tee Martin.

The Raiders and the NFL had no immediate comment Wednesday night on the request from the Fritz Pollard Alliance.

The Commissioner of a major sport in the US is a powerful person indeed. Professional football has become the 800-pound gorilla in the sports world and has expanded its already expansive reach in the U.S. to global proportions. Which makes NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell one of the most powerful men in professional sports today. But as they say, with great power comes great responsibility. And Goodell has been anything but responsible with the power he's been given by virtue of the office he sits on. So busy with making the already wealthy owners insanely wealthy, and attempting to install gimmicky rule changes like moving the extra point, or adopting a ban on the use of the “N” word, Goodell has neglected his duties as the Commissioner, and has repeatedly broken his promises to clean up the game of football. If you're a prime time performer and help make money for the league http://www.eaglescheapauthenticstore.com/shareef-miller-jersey-cheap , the chances are good that Goodell is going to find a way to be lenient with you should you ever find yourself in trouble. From cheaters, to drug abusers, to domestic abusers, to deadbeat dads, to guys who kill their teammates, Goodell's position is one that has varied from case to case. Some players get leniency, while others don't. His inconsistent approach to discipline in the league gives the impression that he's just winging it and that any punishment a player may face Zach Brown Jersey , will depend upon his mood as well as the revenue you help generate for your team and the league.Ever since Goodell assumed the office of the NFL Commissioner in 2006, the league has endured a complete void in leadership. As the head of one of the world's biggest professional sports leagues, Goodell's word carries a lot of weight, and he's had the opportunity to make a really positive impact, not just in the sport, but in the world as well. And he's completely fumbled that opportunity away time and time and time again. While most of the focus lately has been on the Ray Rice situation – and rightly so – that is just the latest issue that has highlighted Goodell's appalling lack of leadership, lack of integrity Devin Bush Jersey , and lack of credibility. Goodell shouldn't be fired simply for the way the Rice situation has been handled – it's not just one thing. It's a long list of things, that taken as a whole, show Goodell's incompetence and lack of caring about doing the right things.NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell should be fired immediately, and here are a few reasons why...
